Globally, the body of Christ is in a season where God is shaking and sifting His church. On Sunday morning, I clearly heard the phrase, “the removal of things” in my spirit. I looked up the scripture, and it was in Hebrews 12:26-29:

^“ …but now He has promised, saying, “Yet once more I shake not only the earth, but also heaven.” Now this, “Yet once more,” indicates the removal of those things that are being shaken, as of things that are made, that the things which cannot be shaken may remain.

 Therefore, since we are receiving a kingdom which cannot be shaken, let us have grace, by which we may serve God acceptably with reverence and godly fear. For our God is a consuming fire.”

The bride is being prepared and, in this shaking, the true condition of our hearts is revealed. Everything that cannot be part of the Kingdom of God is being removed in this hour. This shaking is much more intense than ever before.

There is no place for any false seed in the season we are about to enter. The seed needs to be sifted because the counterfeit seeds are the very things that will make us stumble and fall in the next season. These false seeds disguise themselves as truth, and without a shaking, their true nature won’t be revealed. Let me give you an example of what this looks like:

Earlier this year, I had the privilege of visiting a seed processing facility where seeds are cleaned and separated using air and gravity. You can’t imagine the complexity of the process to clean the seed and the machinery needed to do this. I was completely amazed. In the beginning phases, it is easy to distinguish the seed from the chaff and to clean it out. But as the process progressed, in the more advanced stages, you cannot differentiate the seeds by looking at them with your bare eyes.

The seeds with embryos and the seeds without embryos look exactly the same. In other words, the seeds which carry life inside of them look no different from the empty, unfertile seeds. Therefore, an advanced process of sifting is needed in order to separate the life-giving seed from the empty seed.

The seeds are placed on a gravity table, which is shaken vigorously. Through this intense shaking, those that are lighter, without embryos, are separated from the true, fertile seed. The separation is determined by the weight of the seed and is revealed through the shaking.

This is such a vivid and practical illustration of what is currently happening in the spiritual realm. The life-giving seed in our lives will carry the weight of God’s presence. The true seed obtained its weight because it had abided in Christ.  The false seed does not carry the true, fertile nature of Jesus Christ and His eternal word. These false seeds, which are essentially empty beliefs and counterfeit spiritual gifts, will result in crop failure. The longer the false seeds are held onto, the more deception they will cause because outwardly they promise new life, growth, and a harvest, but it doesn’t carry the true seed of Christ inside.

I believe this separation is twofold: On the one hand, the seed represents our individual lives, the beliefs and teachings we hold onto, as well as our spiritual gifts. God is causing this shaking to test the seed in our lives, so that His Holy Spirit can reveal to us where there is counterfeit seed that will not bring forth a harvest. We need to respond to the Lord in this process through yielding to His Spirit and humbling ourselves, and truly allow Him to separate the true from the false in our lives.

On the other hand, there is a great separation in the body of Christ as the wolves and workers of iniquity are being exposed globally. God is laying bare that which was done in secret. What was whispered in the dark is shouted from the rooftops. God is cleaning His house. His house lies in ruins, but before the rebuilding can begin it has to be cleaned out. Among the wolves, mixed seed, false beliefs, another thing being exposed is divination in the name of biblical prophecy. God is calling us to deep repentance and those who are not willing to repent will be removed.

The season of shaking has been a very long and painful season and the hardship we face feels like it is more than we can endure. The waves of tests, trials and disappointment keep coming one after the other. But this painful process is essential to reveal and remove what does not carry life. Many things and relationships have been removed from your life and it caused much grief.

The removal of things that can be shaken is not easy and it leaves us with a sense of loss. But we need to accept what God has removed from our lives because in the process of accepting His sovereign will, the traumatic severing caused by the shaking will start to heal. Accepting what the Lord is doing is a major key in spiritually surviving this intense shaking.

Remnant, hold fast, and allow Him to shake you and reveal what has no substance in your life. Abide in Him, because through constantly abiding in His presence, word, and truth, your life will carry the weight of His glory. Walk in the fear of the Lord. For our God is a consuming fire.
